Visit inspiring stations across the Goethe Park that share interesting facts from the MSR Youth Study. We invite you to participate in the fun activities at each station:

  • Tree of Wishes: post your wish/aspiration/something you would do differently
  • Me and them: Relationship with my parents & teachers
  • Guys & Girls: gender roles under the microscope
  • Change is in the air? My Experience of a changing Myanmar
  • Who are you on Facebook? My offline and my online self
  • ‘Facebook & Digital Security Clinic’ hosted by Deutsche Welle Akademie, Myanmar ICT for Development Organization (MIDO) and MILAS Elephant

‘Beat Plastic Pollution’ stall hosted by Thant Myanmar.

Young Burmese have send us great pictures and thoughts about “What does it mean to be young in Myanmar?” We need your help to nominate the winner of this photo competition so please vote for your top 3 favourites at the event.

GRAFFITI WALL – 3-9pm
Get creative on a big graffiti wall in the Amphitheatre of the Goethe compound!

MEETING-CORNER – 4-6pm
Did you ever wanted to know how people became who they are? Come to the auditorium and meet some fine people who are eager to talk with you in an informal way. Ask them whatever you want – like how they overcame obstacles on their way, what has inspired them or what their favourite food is (sessions will be simultaneously translated into English):

  • 4-4.30pm Mikis Weber, famous hip hop artist and actor
  • 4.30-5pm Yadanar, touch performance artist
  • 5-5.30pm Ko Okka, co-founder of Impact Hub Yangon, and social entrepreneur
  • 5.30-6pm Thinzar Shunlei Yi, an award winning youth activist and TV host for ”Under 30 Dialogue” in Mizzama TV channel.
     

YANGON STREET PERFORMANCE PROJECT – 4:30pm

PANEL OF INSPIRATION – 6:15-7:30pm
‘Being a young adult in Myanmar’: how does it feel, what needs to be changed, what has already changed, what are the challenges, how to overcome these, what is the outlook?(sessions will be simultaneously translated into English)

  • Darko C: lead singer of the Indie band Side Effect and country director of the NGO Turning Tables which empowers marginalized youth through music and film.
  • Ko Aung Khant, who left the NLD and stood as an independent candidate in the recent YCDC elections
  • Ma Thae Su Aye, enthusiastic volunteer working with Thant Myanmar who runs awareness raising activities on plastic reduction and environmental conservation.
